A new contract was signed between DOTSOFT S.A. and the Municipality of Pylaia–Hortiatis for the implementation of the project “Moments, symbols, and figures beginning from 1821 through the timeless artistic perspective of Kostas Loustas.”
Within this project, DOTSOFT S.A., specializing in the delivery of innovative and complex IT projects, will undertake the digitization and documentation of artworks, portraits of prominent Thessalonians, and texts and poems related to 1821 from the collection of the painter Kostas Loustas.
In summary, the project includes the digitization and documentation of:
- Artworks from the collection of Mr. Kostas Loustas, created during the period 1988–1989, depicting the Greek Flag—the eternal symbol of the 1821 Revolution—in moments of both glory and decline.
- Eighty-one (81) portraits of distinguished Thessalonians (such as Dinos Christianopoulos, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Vasilis Triantafyllidis, etc.).
- Texts and poems about 1821 and its symbols.
To host the above material, a digital virtual exhibition space will be developed, along with an online repository connected to the National Documentation Centre (EKT). At the same time, a digital game for mobile devices will be designed and developed, focusing on the history of the Greek flag.
The expected benefits of the project are multiple and include artistic presentation, depiction of leading figures of intellect, arts, and sciences, preservation of memory, and the restoration of values and individuals who, through their unique contributions, shaped the cultural identity of our country.
The project is funded by the “ANTONIS TRITSIS” Development and Solidarity Program for Local Government. Completion is expected in mid-2024.
