The Municipality of Athens is taking a step toward the full digital transformation of the Athens Municipal Nursery by signing a contract with the consortium of DOTSOFT A.E. – IID A.E. for the implementation of the project titled “Provision of digitization and digital archiving services for payroll and payment vouchers of the Athens Municipal Nursery.”

The project involves the digitization and documentation of over 770,000 pages of physical records, which will be converted into a secure and easily accessible digital environment.

The goal of the project is to create an integrated document management information system that will allow for immediate search and retrieval of data, significantly contributing to transparency and the efficiency of the financial services of the Nursery.

The solution incorporates Artificial Intelligence technologies for automatic recognition and extraction of metadata, facilitating the management of large volumes of information and reducing the human workload.

The project includes the following:

• Digitization and documentation of over 770,000 payroll and payment vouchers.
• Development of software for managing digitized files using AI.
• Provision of scanning equipment and an electronic archiving system.
• Staff training on the use of the new digital environment.

Upon completion, the project will enable the Athens Municipal Nursery to operate entirely without physical files, ensuring security, transparency, and business continuity. Additionally, the transfer of know-how to staff will ensure that the digitization of new documents continues autonomously, in line with the new operational standards.
