DOTSOFT S.A. has signed a contract with the Non-Profit Civil Company “Cultural and Historical Archive of the Petralias Family” for the implementation of the project “Digitization, Documentation, and Promotion of the Historical Archive of the Petralias Family.”
The archive of the historic Petralias family includes printed and photographic material that documents the presence and activity of one of Greece’s oldest political families, represented in the Hellenic Parliament from the first elections of 1844 to the present day. The Petralias Archive comprises 3,257 artifacts of significant historical value, the vast majority of which are unique and exceptionally rare. Of particular importance are the documents covering the periods 1912–1922, the Interwar era, the early post-war years, and subsequent decades.
Within the framework of the project, DOTSOFT S.A., drawing on its expertise in digitization services for cultural and historical content, undertook the digitization of the entire archive, the comprehensive scientific documentation of all materials, and the registration of the digitized and documented content in a specialized platform designed for hosting archival material. The company also developed IT applications — educational, geoinformatics, and crowdsourcing — to enhance the visibility of the digital content and made all this material accessible to the public through a dedicated web portal.
The project was funded by the Public Investment Program of the Ministry of Development and Investments and had a five-month implementation period.
